In the post about Rau & Herzlich we were talking about how close you were to one of my favorite sucuchos, Lager Lager, and how the perfect plan would be to have a satisfying dinner in the former followed by some fine IPAs in the latter. Well, there can be a variance in such perfection: a stumble upon in Die Perle.

I believe I mentioned already how enjoyably walkable the south of Görlitzer Park is. Upon stretching my legs on a cold, cold evening, the desire to get a bit warmer became ever so longing. It is commonly said "You want, you get". Sometimes this is just fantasy and in other occasions it seems attractions can occur. Hello, Die Perle!

Initially lured in by dim red lights, once inside I felt like I walked into a friend's home. The living-like setup is immediately welcoming and the music... wow! I had the pleasure to hear some of my favorite sounds: afro-beat, a sort of modern post-jazz and funk directly from, what I could devise, a thoroughly curated selection of vinyls. It surely is amazing to me how easily some magnificent music can enhance the ambience.

The bar is attended by just one person (at least, this was so the couple of times I stopped by) who makes sure you're glass is always juiced up with care and attention. I'm not a great fan of indoor smoking bars, but I made an exception here: the atmosphere felt so warm that I really did not want to give up on the whiskey and the oh-so-loving crackling of vinyls.

Die Perle is truly a place where you just want to grab a seat, mix up some liqueur, give in to music and have endless conversations with your loved ones until time slips by.

When: Tuesday to Thursday from 7pm to 2pm, Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 5am and Sunday from 5pm to 2am.
