Thank God for places like these!

While strolling around through my neighborhood, one of my favorite daily activities, I came across this newly opened spot. It is my understanding that it originated as a food-truck and, since it was becoming so successful, the owner decided to set up shop.

Holy Everest, as you can perhaps intuit, is inspired in its roots: Nepal. The menu's front page is a short summary of Nepal's key facts, a detail I love since it helpes me better understand where it's all coming from and also gives way for a swift relation to the place; in other words, it makes me feel at home right from the start. There are a couple of spots to eat while sitting on cushions on the floor, the owner is running the place daily and the rest of the staff seems to not get tired of smiling, and for me, a simple smile can suffice to change your day, and it did.

So as not to make the smiles solely responsible for the endearing experience in this sucucho, henceforth comes the food. The dish I had was called Thali, which consisted of a mix of a soup and 2 types of curry, vegetables and chicken (you could also opt for lamb, but when I went they were out of it). I guess the best and concise way to describe it was that flavors were dancing joyfully around my palate. It was just so good! Many unexpected tastes came along for the dance and each deserved its very own ritual of admiration. Eyes closed, senses sharp, a smile emerging and the heart rejoicing.

I'll stop here because I believe you just need take a leap of faith and experience it for yourself without anything else which might condition it. Please, just go and let yourselves dwell into the realm of greatness. I'll even go with you, anytime.

When: Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 12pm to 11pm and Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 12am.
